The 1st respondent filed the counter wherein it has been stated that as on date, there is no proposal pending with the 1st respondent for any further development around the said channel and the alleged request to the portion of land without any compensation is incorrect statement made by the petitioners.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that since the 1st respondent has no proposal to make any development around the channel, the averment stated in the counter of the 1st respondent may be recorded and the Writ Petitions may be closed.

4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, recording the averments stated in para 2 and 3 of the counter affidavit of the 1st respondent, the Writ
