ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by V.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Seeking a direction to respondents to produce the petitioner's daughter Sumathy, aged about 23 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Sumathy, aged about 23 years, went missing from 25.01.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. 3.Today, Mr.S.Devendran, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Valathy Police Station, Villupuram District is present. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.Today, the police produced Sumathy. When enquired by us, Sumathy stated that she was in love with one Yuvaraj and since her parents were not agreeable for the marriage, she left her home and got married to Yuvaraj on 27.11.2021. Sumathy is not a minor and therefore, it cannot be stated that she is in the illegal custody of Yuvaraj.

Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed.
