Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to G.O.(D)No.74, Industries (MMA.1) Department, dated 28.08.2006 issued by the Secretary to Government, Industries Department, Fort St.George, Chennai - 600 009 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondent herein to dispose of the application submitted by the petitioners herein seeking for granting of mining lease in respect of Government poromboke lands situated in S.F.No.583, Chandrapadi Village, Tharangambadi Taluk, Nagapattinam District in an exent of 1.43.5 Hectares and an extent of 0.64.0 Hectares in R.S.No.573 which is situated contiguous to S.No.583 of the same village, for mining Garnets, Illmerite, Zircon and other allied minerals for a period of 30 years, after affording an opportunity to the petitioners herein as contemplated under SubRule (1) of Rule 26 of the Mineral Concession Rules, 1960 on merits and in accordance with law and within such time as may be stipulated by this Court.
