PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondents from in any manner proceeding to finalise the selection and appoint any person for the post of Lecturer in the Department of Textile Technology against the quota reserved for Scheduled Caste pursuant to the advertisement dated 11.05.2004 in Advertisement No.003/PR-14/2004 without properly considering the claims of the petitioner in accordance with law by giving due weightage to the qualification of the petitioner as opposed to other candidates.

The petitioner herein, who claims to be eligible to be appointed for the post of Lecturer in the Department of Textile Technology in the first respondent University, has filed this writ petition seeking for a Mandamus forbearing the respondents https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

in finalising the selection of any other person to the said post. The writ petition came to be filed in the year 2004 and pending the writ petition, it is represented that the petitioner has taken up employment in a private institution and has already been promoted to a senior post. As such, the post of Lecturer may not appropriate for the petitioner herein. In view of the same, no effective orders can be passed in the present writ petition.
