Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for grant of license for the running the bunk shop business of selling coffee, tea and other allied eatable items at College Lane, Opp. to State Bank of India Local Head Office, Nungambakkam, Chennai-6 by the Committee constituted for the said purpose on the basis of the representation dated 12.04.2012.

Heard Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate for R1 and R3, Mr.Rahul Adithya for Ms.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel for R2.

2. The petitioner has sought a Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider his claim for grant of license for running a Bunk shop at College Lane, Opp. to State Bank of India Local Head Office, Nungambakkam, Chennai-6 and states that he has filed a representation in this regard.

3. With the enactment of 'The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending Act, 2014)', providing for the constitution of Town Vending Committees, that have, as on date been formulated, it is for the committees to consider request of the petitioner.

4. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach the concerned Town Vending Committee, by way of representation seeking the granting of license, if he believes he is so eligible.

5. This Writ Petition is closed with liberty as above. Connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed. No costs.
