The petitioner has filed this petition to call for the records relating to the proceedings of the 4th respondent having Ref.No.572/C1/2020 dated 27.01.2020 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents 1 to 4 to allow the petitioner to continue the work as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Government College of Engineering, Salem.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel Page No.2 of 6

appearing for the petitioner submitted that need to transfer the petitioner to the Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri to benefit the students in the backward area of Dharmapuri is no longer necessary as three Associate Professors were appointed in the Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri. He has also filed an additional affidavit in this regard, in which at paragraph No.6 it is stated as follows:- "6. Pursuant to the interim order dated 31.01.2020 the petitioner continued as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Engineering branch in the Government College of Engineering, Salem. The 5th respondent was accommodated as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Government College of Engineering, Salem.

Recently the post of Assistant Professor became vacant in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the Government College of Engineering, Salem. Hence two of the Assistant Professors in the department of Computer Science and Engineering in the Government College of Engineering, Salem were promoted as Associate Professors. Consequently two posts of Assistant Professors in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the Government College of Engineering, Salem. Also three Associate Professors were appointed in the Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri. Hence the need to transfer the petitioner to the Government College of Engineering, Dharmapuri to benefit the Page No.

students in the backward area of Dharmapuri is no longer necessary".

3. In view of the averments made in the additional affidavit filed by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed. 06.07.2023 dpq Index :
