Respondents PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondents 1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.08.2017 and to remove the land grabbing by respondents 4 to 8 in respect of land measuring 0.45 cents Government Poramboke land at Melperumalcherry Village, hamlet of Pudupattinam.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.S.L.Venkatesan, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Government Pleader (i/c.) for respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.P.K.Sabapathi, learned counsel for respondents 4 to 8.

2. The petitioner is seeking directions to respondents 1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.8.2017 and remove the encroachment made by respondents 4 to 8 in respect of the land measuring 0.45 cents, which is Government Poramboke land, situated at S.No.337/1 in Melperumalcherry Village, hamlet of Pudupattinam, bearing No.182, Chegalpattu.

3. The learned Government Pleader (i/c.) states that notices have been issued under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 to the encroachers in the said land. He further states that the respondent authorities will proceed in accordance with law in order to remove the encroachments. The said statement is recorded.

4. In view of the statement made by the learned Government Pleader (i/c.), no further orders are required to be passed in this writ petition, except directing the respondent authorities to proceed further in the matter in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. The writ petition is closed. No costs.
