O R D E R

(The order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN.,J ) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed, praying that this Court may be pleased to direct the respondent, to produce the wife of the petitioner, namely , Mrs.V.Punitha, aged about 39 years, before this Court and set her at liberty. 2.The petitioner, who is the husband of the detenue, has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition, stating that he is working in the Maintenance Department, in a private hospital. His wife, Mrs.V.Punitha, the detenue herein, has been a practicing Advocate of the High Court of Madras, Chennai. On 04.11.2015, she had left the house, stating that she is going to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the nearby Ponniamman Temple, T.Nagar, Chennai. However, she did not return home. Therefore, the petitioner had lodged a police complaint before the respondent herein, on 05.11.2015. The said complaint had been registered, by the respondent police, in Crime No.3804 of 2015, on 07.11.2015. Since, the respondent had not taken effective steps, to trace the detenue, the petitioner has preferred the present Habeas Corpus Petition. 3.Today, the matter has been listed for hearing. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent, had placed before this Court, a status report, dated 04.01.2016, filed on behalf of the respondent. In the said report, the details of the steps taken by the respondent, to trace the detenue, has been enumerated.

4.We have also perused the case diary produced by the respondent police. We are satisfied with the steps taken by the respondent police to trace the detenue.

5.In such circumstances, we find it appropriate, to close the Habeas Corpus Petition. Hence, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. However, it is made clear, that the respondent Police shall continue, the investigation to trace the detenue, and to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.
