Mr.Balan Haridas for R2 for R1 - served COMMON ORDER These two Writ Petitions are filed against the award passed by the Inspector of Labour, Tamilnadu Industrial Establishment (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981, Chennai, in Na.Ka.No.E.7039/99 dated 06.09.2005, thereby conferring permanent status on the 2nd respondent -
workmen in each of their cases.
2. When the matter came up for hearing today, it is brought to the notice of this Court that pending the Writ Petitions, the 2nd respondents - workmen were said to be non-employed. As against the disengagement, they have approached the Labour Court in I.D.Nos.656 and 657 of 2000 and by an award dated 28.02.2011, instead of reinstatement with back wages, the Labour Court has awarded lumpsum compensation.
3. In view thereof, when the workmen are not challenging the award and the same has become final, nothing remains to be adjudicated in the present Writ Petitions. Thus, recording the above said submissions, the Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs.
