The Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondents for willful disobedience of the order of this Court made in W.P.No.3642 of 2004, dated 26.03.2012.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, there was no representation for the petitioner. The learned standing counsel appearing for the 1st respondent has submitted that against the order of this Court dated 26.03.2012, the 1st respondent Corporation had preferred a Writ Appeal before the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court in W.A. No.2337 of 2012 and the same came to be disposed of by the Hon'ble Division Bench by order dated 08.09.2014, directing the respondent to pay arrears of salary only with effect from the date of his representation i.e. 02.10.1994. Alleging the said order of the Hon'ble Division Bench, the petitioner herein had preferred a contempt petition in Contempt Petition No. 144 of 2014 before the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court. The Hon'ble Division Bench had closed the said contempt petition, observing that the petitioner has been paid the amount in purported compliance of the order passed by this Court.

In view of the above, this Court finds no reason in keeping pending the present contempt petition preferred against the order of the learned single judge of this Court.
