O R D E R

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for non compliance of the order dated 16.12.2021 passed by this Court in W.P.No.14353 of 2014, thereby quashing the order passed by the District Revenue Officer, Kancheepuram and the order passed by the Principal

Secretary and Commissioner of Land Administration, Chennai and also directed the respondent herein to transfer the patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the subject property.

Today, the respondent is present before this Court and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent submitted that the subject land is classified as Anadheenam and as such, the respondent has no power or jurisdiction to issue patta in the name of the petitioner in respect of the subject land. That apart, as against the order passed by this Court, they preferred a writ appeal and the same is pending before the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court in W.A.2883 of 2023.

Considering the above submission, this Contempt Petition is closed at present. The petitioner is at liberty to revive the contempt petition subject to the result of the writ appeal.
