This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to investigate the case and file final report in Crime No.902 of 2016 pending on his file.
2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one Manickam, he has lodged a complaint with the respondent police. Finding no response on the said complaint, he has filed the same before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Vridhachalam, who, in turn, forwarded the same under Section 156(3) Cr.P.C to the respondent police for taking appropriate action. Pursuant to the same, the respondent police has registered the First Information Report in Crime No.902 of 2016 dated 17.11.2016 against the said accused for the offences punishable under Sections 447 and 380 IPC. Thereafter, no steps have been taken by the respondent police to conduct enquiry and file final report. Hence, this petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent to complete the investigation and file final report in Crime No.902 of 2016 pending on his file, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
