When this writ petition was taken up on 18.12.2018, there was no representation for the petitioner. Hence, the matter was directed to be posted today i.e, on 20.12.2018, under the caption "for dismissal".

2.Accordingly, today, the matter was listed under the caption "for dismissal". When the same was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner was not ready in contesting the case and sought adjournment.

3.Since the relief sought for in this writ petition is to quash the proceedings dated 28.07.2009 passed by the respondent, thereby calling upon the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.1,74,000/- towards tax for the alleged violation of the conditions of permit issued in respect of their private carrier Vehicle and the writ petition is pending right from the year 2009, this Court is not inclined to adjourn the same. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.In such view of the matter, this writ petition stands dismissed for non-prosecution. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also dismissed.
