O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondent police to grant police protection to the petitioner and her family members, based on the complaint given by the petitioner on 16.01.2021.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she married one Vicky @ Ananda Kumar against the wishes of her family members. It was an intercaste marriage and the petitioner has stated that she is now living with her husband and his parents. The grievance of the petitioner is that her parents and uncle are causing threat to the husband of the petitioner and his family members and the life of her husband is in danger. Even though, the complaint was given to the respondent police, the same was not acted upon. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

3. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Mohammed Riyaz, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to call the parties for an enquiry and specifically instruct the family members of the petitioner not to interfere with the life of the petitioner and not to cause any threat. If inspite of the same, any threat is exerted on the husband of the petitioner and his family members, action shall be taken immediately in accordance with law. If necessary, police protection shall also be granted. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent along with copy of this order.

This Criminal Original petition is disposed of with the above directions.
