ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to transfer the petitioner from the Government College of Engineering, Bargur to the Annamalai University, Chidambaram on compassionate grounds
considering the extreme and exceptional circumstances prevailing in his family (as his wife suffering heart attack recently and now diagnosed with kidney stones and advised surgery).
2. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner joined the third respondent University temporarily as a Technical Assistant in the year 2007 and thereafter, his service was regularised in 2009. He further submitted that the petitioner was appointed in the fourth respondent college on agreement basis for three years by the second respondent vide proceedings datedd 14.12.2020 and presently working there and now seeks transfer to the third respondent University due to ill-health of his wife and family situation which requires his presence, due to which, he made representations on 22.11.2025 and 24.11.2025 to the respondents, however there was inaction on the part of the respondents and hence, the present Writ Petition.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also taking note of the medical ailments of the petitioner's wife and his family situation, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the
representations of the petitioner dated 22.11.2025 & 24.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
