ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.111 of 2025 pending on the file of the first respondent.
2.
The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner impersonated a Village Administrative Officer and when suspicion was raised by the de facto complainant, the petitioner abused and intimidated him. Hence, the present case has been registered.
3.
The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that owing to previous enmity, a false complaint has been lodged and apart from the oral complaint, there is no other material to substantiate the allegations.
4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that the petitioner is alleged to have shown a mobile phone containing an identity card claiming to be that of a Village Administrative Officer. The said mobile phone has been seized and sent for the forensic examination and only upon completion of the forensic analysis would the first respondent be in a position to proceed further with the investigation. He further submitted that the investigation is at a nascent stage. 5.
At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he is not pressing the prayer for quashment of the FIR. However, he seeks a direction to the first respondent to complete the investigation and file the final report at the earliest. He has also made an endorsement to that effect.
6.
Recording the submission and endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed as withdrawn, with a direction to the first respondent to complete the investigation in Crime No.111 of 2025 and file the final report within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
