O R D E R

[ORDER OF THE COURT WAS MADE BY S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] With reference to the allegations raised by the petitioner that encroachments are made in the Government land and the Authorities have failed to initiate appropriate actions. The learned Special Government Pleader Mr.A.Selvendran appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 3 would contend that actions were already initiated by the Authorities by issuing

notice under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachments Act and by passing subsequent orders under Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachments Act. The aggrieved person preferred an appeal before the District Collector under Section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachments Act, which is pending. Therefore, the District Collector is directed to dispose of the appeal, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and subject to the orders of the District Collector, all further actions are directed to be initiated to remove the encroachments, if any, identified. The entire exercise is directed to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from today.
