ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to deal with the representations made by the petitioner wherein the petitioner is seeking for reclassification of the subject property which has been classified as "Maichal Land".
2.Heard Mr.S.Natarajan, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, Mr.P.Sathish, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the appearing for the respondents.
3.The specific case of the petitioner is that the subject property was assessed in the name of the grand father of the petitioner during the settlement land survey and it stood in the name of the grand father. Till his demise in the year 2002, the grand father of the petitioner was in possession of the property. Thereafter the father of the petitioner was in possession and enjoyment and he died on 12.11.2018 leaving behind the petitioner as the legal heir. While so, the 2/4
petitioner noticed that during the UDR survey, the land was mistakenly classified as "Maichal Land". On coming to know of the same, representations were made to th respondents to rectify the mistake and to reclassify them. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner dated 20.06.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner shall make a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent along with the representation dated 20.06.2024 and along with other relevant documents and also a copy of this order. 5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
