Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to grant permission and police protection to conduct "Gramiya Kalai Nigazhchi" scheduled to be held from 04.04.2017 to 07.04.2017 on the event of Arulmigu Mariyamman Temple Festival, situate at Pelukurichi Village and Taluk, Namakkal District based on the petitioner's representation dated 22.03.2017 to conduce the Festival.

O R D E R

The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission and provide protection to conduct Gramiya Kalai Nigazhchi in the event of Arulmigu Mariyamman Temple Festival scheduled to be held from 04.04.2017 to 07.04.2017 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.03.2017.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 22.03.2017 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct Gramiya Kalai Nigazhchi in the event of Arulmigu Mariyamman Temple Festival at Pelukurichi Village and Taluk, Namakkal District, scheduled to be held from 04.04.2017 to 07.04.2017. However, till date, no order has been passed by the respondent. Hence, this petition.

3. Though the petitioner sought for permission to conduct https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

"Gramiya Kalai Nigazhchi", the learned counsel for the petitioner restricted the same to the extent of conducting Orchestra, for which, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has raised no serious objection.

In view of the submission so made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.03.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Orchestra in the event of Arulmigu Mariyamman Temple Festival at Pelukurichi Village and Taluk, Namakkal District scheduled to be held from 04.04.2017 to 07.04.2017, subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi / dance programme" in the name of "Gramiya Kalai Nigazhchi".
