ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus, seeking a direction to the third respondent to expedite the disciplinary proceedings in G.O. (Ms) No.50, Home (SC) Department, dated 12.01.2024.

2. It is stated that as against the petitioner, who was working as Superintendent of Police, a charge memo has been issued and an Enquiry Officer had been appointed on 12.01.2024. Out of seven witnesses, six witnesses have been examined in chief; the petitioner has not chosen to cross-examine any one of them.

3. The petitioner now, by this Writ Petition, seeks a direction to expedite the disciplinary proceedings. If the petitioner is not co-operating with the enquiry proceedings, a direction cannot be issued to expedite the disciplinary proceedings. The Writ Petition has been filed more to coerce a

response and to come to a conclusion, and to apply pressure on the respondents. I am not inclined to grant any Mandamus as sought for in this Writ Petition.
