ORDER

This contempt petition is filed by the petitioner, complaining noncompliance of the order dated 21.10.2021 passed by this Court in WP No. 21339 of 2021.

The petitioner has filed the aforesaid writ petition by stating that her son Govindarajan, aged 47 years, died in a road accident on 10.08.2013. For the death of her son, the petitioner sought for monetary compensation from the respondents by sending representations. The petitioner also sent representations to the Chief Minister's Grievance Cell, but those representations did not evoke any response, hence, she has filed the above writ petition for issuing a Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of her representations dated 24.12.2014 and 22.07.2020 and to provide her monetary compensation.

This Court, after hearing the counsel for both sides, disposed of the writ petition filed by the petitioner on 21.10.2021 with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner and to pass order in 2/4

accordance with law, within a period of six weeks. 4.

According to the petitioner, the order dated 21.10.2021 has not been complied with by the respondents and therefore, she has come up with this contempt petition.

Today, when the contempt petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents produced a copy of the communication in R.c.15220/2021 H2 dated 07.03.2022 by the first respondent to show that the order passed by this Court has been complied with and a monetary compensation of Rs.50,000/- was recommended to be paid to the petitioner, the relevant portion of the same reads as follows:- "In the above circumstances, after perusing all the relevant records in detail and considering the petitioner's old age, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Mayiladuthurai was instructed to get the proposals from the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mayiladuthurai, for sanctioning the road accident relief. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mayiladuthurai was also instructed by me to send necessary proposals for giving relief under the Road Accident Relief Scheme on 04.03.2022.

Subsequently, the DSP has sent the recommendation proposals to the Revenue Divisional Officer on 05.03.2022 and the RDO, Mayiladuthurai has also perused the proposal and sanctioned the relief amount of Rs.50,000/- and entered it in the RDO Office Accident Relief Fund Register. The relief will be disbursed to the beneficiary on receipt of funds from the Government, giving top most priority."

In the light of the above communication dated 07.03.2022 of the first respondent, the contempt petition is closed. No costs.
