The Criminal Miscellaneous Petition has been filed by the petitionerpolice seeking extension of time granted by this court for filing final report or closure report while disposing Crl.O.P.No.8009 of 2021 by order dated 28.4.2021.

2. Learned Public Prosecutor (Pondicherry) appearing for the petitioner-police would submit that this court, by order dated 28.4.2021, had directed the petitioner to complete the investigation in Crime No.185 of 2020 within a period of six months, however, due to the pandemic situation and transfer of investigating officers in the meanwhile, the investigation could not be completed within the time stipulated by this court and therefore, prays for grant of some more time to comply with the order of this court.

3. In view of the grievance expressed on behalf of the petitionerpolice, the time already granted by this court in Crl.O.P.No.8009 of 2021 for filing final/closure report is extended by a further period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order without seeking any further extension of time. The Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is ordered accordingly. 16.3.2022.
