O R D E R
This Contempt petition is filed to punish the respondent for willfully disobeying the orders passed in W.P.No.30150 of 2023 dated 30.10.2023. 2.In pursuance of the order of this Court on 18.03.2021, the Managing Director of the fourth respondent society was present in the Court. When the matter was taken up in the morning the fourth respondent submitted a memo of calculation for the amount payable to the petitioner. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner objected to the calculation stating that calculation was not based on compound interest. 4.It is seen that the Deputy Commissioner of Labour, the Controlling Authority passed an order on 05.09.2019 requesting the District Collector of 2/5
Tiruvannamalai to recover a sum of Rs.5,55,438/- along with 15% compound interest. As per the order the total amount works out to Rs.15,19,670/-. On 30.11.2023, the petitioner gave credit for a sum of Rs.9,45,927/-. Hence the balance amount payable to the petitioner is Rs.5,73,743/-. 5.In the afternoon, the fourth respondent produced the Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.5,73,743/- drawn on Tiruvannamalai District Central Cooperative Bank Ltd., in favour of the petitioner and the petitioner has also acknowledge the receipt thereof.
6.In view of the above, the contempt petition stands closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
