ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to file final report in Crime No.261 of 2016 pending on his file within the time to be stipulated by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one Ravikumar, she has lodged a complaint before the respondent police and the same was registered as FIR in Crime No.261 of 2016 for the offence punishable under Section 420 IPC. Though the complaint was registered on 27.06.2016, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.261 of 2016 pending on his file and file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
