Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the seventh respondent/Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to follow Employment Exchange Seniority without fixing age limit while appointing candidates with Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering qualification to the posts of Technical Assistants from the lists of candidates sponsored by the respective District Employment Exchanges in the ratio of 1:5 as per G.O.Ms.No.18 Labour and Employment (N2) Department dated 25.02.2008.

It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners as well as learned Standing counsel appearing for the seventh respondent / TANGEDCO that, the prayer sought for in this Writ Petition i.e., implementation of age relaxation, has been done subsequently by implementing the same in subsequent requirement. Therefore, the prayer sought for in this Writ Petition has become infructuous. Hence, recording the aforesaid development, it can be disposed of, they contended.

2. Recording the said submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for both sides, this Writ Petition is dismissed having become infructuous. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
