Order (Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) With reference to the relief sought for in the present writ petition, the learned Standing Counsel for Mettupalayam Municipality would submit that most of the encroachments have already been removed except two or thee encroachments. It is submitted that all further action will be initiated to remove those encroachments also.

2. In view of the said submission, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to remove all the encroachments on the road, by following the procedures as contemplated under the statute and rules in force. In respect of objectionable road encroachment, the Municipal Authorities are directed to monitor the same and ensure that no encroachments are permitted on public road, causing obstruction for the road users. Such exercise is directed to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. (S.M.S.,J.)
