The prayer sought for in the present writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to bring the petitioner into regular establishment with effect from the date of his initial appointment i.e from 12.04.1979.

2. It is seen that the petitioner has reached the age of superannuation and the writ petition was filed in the year 2004. After lapse for more than fifteen years, it would not be appropriate to consider the prayer at this point of time. Nevertheless, if the petitioner still aggrieved, it is always open to him to make a fresh representation to the respondents seeking for retrospective regularisation. As such, the present prayer sought for in this writ petition cannot be considered at this point of time. Hence, the writ petition stands closed with the above liberty. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
