Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd and 3rd respondents to initiate action on the representation of the petitioner dated 29.09.2008, conduct an enquiry in accordance with law and consequently give adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family to peacefully live in his village Chetty Nagar, Koonimedu PO, Dindivanam Taluk. The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to initiate action on the representation of the petitioner dated 29.09.2008, conduct an enquiry in accordance with law and consequently give adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family to peacefully live in his village Chetty Nagar, Koonimedu PO, Dindivanam Taluk.
2. The said representation reveals that the Panchayat President one Mr.Sekar was murdered on 04.05.2007. The petitioner was arrested in connection with the said criminal case. When the petitioner was in prison, his house was demolished by some persons and the things in the house were stolen and the petitioner has given a complaint. However, the petitioner states that he was prevented from performing his duties and he was not even allowed to do job in that village.
3. The grievances of the writ petitioner is that no action was taken on the representation submitted by the petitioner.
4. This Court is of the considered opinion that the representation was submitted in the year 2008 and 13 years lapsed. It is not made clear, whether the grievances are still in existence. No doubt, if the representation submitted by the petitioner is genuine, then the authorities are bound to look into it and initiate all appropriate actions. In this regard, the petitioner is at liberty to submit a fresh representation, if any other grievances exists as of now and in the event of submitting any such fresh application, the authorities shall look into it and initiate appropriate actions, if necessary.
5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
