This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the third respondent to file final report in the Cr.No.46 of 2021 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Ammapettai All Women Police Station, Salem District.

2. When the matter is taken up today, Mr.A.Gokulakrishnan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the petitioner/victim belongs to the Scheduled Caste Community. The petitioner and the accused are colleagues working in a nationalized bank. Based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case was registered on 13.09.2021 in Crime No.46 of 2021 for the offences under Sections 493, 417, 420 & 506(1) IPC. Later, during the course of investigation, based on the statement recorded from the victim, the case has been altered to one under Sections 376, 493, 417, 420 & 506(i) IPC and 3(2)(va) of SC/ST (POA) Act and after conducting preliminary enquiry, the accused was arrested on 03.02.2022 and he is in judicial custody. He would further submit that the respondents will take every endeavor to complete the investigation and file the final report in this case within a period of six months.

3. Recording the same, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of and the respondents are directed to complete the investigation and file the final report within a period of six months from today.
