ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH, J.) When the petitioner's son, namely Alavudeen, S/o.Abdul Malik, aged about 32 years had gone missing, she had given an online complaint on 17.12.2024 and thereafter, had lodged a complaint before the second respondent Police on 21.12.2024. Thereafter, the petitioner has also given a representation to the first and second respondents on 17.01.2025. Since the petitioner's son could not be traced within a reasonable time, she has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition with the claim that her son is in illegal custody of the third respondent herein.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has filed a status report on behalf of the second respondent, which states that the petitioner's complaint was registered in Crime

No.290 of 2024 on 22.12.2024 as 'man missing' and that the respondent Police have conducted investigation to locate the petitioner's son and the same is still under progress.

3. Since the petitioner's complaint is in the process of investigation, we deem it fit that the first and second respondents could be directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report.

4. In view of the above, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition does not require consideration. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the first and second respondents herein, to expedite the investigation and file a final report, as expeditiously as possible.

5. With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. No costs.
