Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Section 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant 6 days emergency leave without escort to petitioner's son, life convict Santhosh S/o.Muthu, PID No.727002, now confined in Central Prison, Cuddalore, 3rd respondent herein, for the purpose of attending the sister marriage and perform certain customary practices, in pursuant to petitioner representation dated 14.01.2026.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by P.VELMURUGAN, J.) This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed to direct the respondents to grant 6 days emergency leave without escort to the petitioner's son namely Santhosh S/o.Muthu, PID No.727002, who is a life convict and now confined in Central Prison, Cuddalore, for the purpose of attending his sister's marriage to be held on 08.02.2026 and perform certain customary practices, in pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 14.01.2026.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor produced the copy of the report submitted by the Village Administrative Officer, in which it is stated that the reason for leave sough for by the petitioner is genuine one.

3. Therefore, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 14.01.2026 and pass necessary orders.
