O R D E R

The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to grant patta under free patta scheme to the petitioner in respect of petitioner's small house shed and vacant land situated at No.48, New No.60/6, Stewardpet, 1st Lane, Tiruttani, after expediting the patta issuing process in terms of the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2013.

2. It is the case of the petitioner though he has given his representation as early as on 12.06.2013, the respondents have not considered the same.

3.Ms.A.Mathumathi, learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, submitted that the request made by the petitioner cannot be granted for the reason that the petitioner is seeking for free house site patta. However, the learned Special Government Pleader submitted that the 2nd respondent would consider the petitioner's request and pass orders in accordance with law, within a time frame.

4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.06.2013 and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
