ORDER

The above writ petitions have been filed with a common prayer for issuance of a mandamus, forbearing the respondents from appointing contractual employees working as Lab Technicians under the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme to the newly arisen 420 / 337 permanent posts of Lab Technician GradeIII respectively, with a consequential direction to the respondents to appoint the petitioners to the said post of Lab Technician Grade-III.

When the matters were taken up, Mr.K.Ravikumar, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents, producing a copy of the proceedings dated 6.3.2019 issued by the Director of Medical Education, Chennai in Ref.No.16292/E5/2/2019-2, stated that Mr.S.P.Saravanakumar, the petitioner in W.P.No.29172 of 2008 was appointed as Laboratory Technician Grade-III on 15.11.2010 and subsequently he joined duty on 25.11.2010 at the Primary Health Centre, Manjakuttai, Salem Health Unit. Presently, he has been also promoted as Laboratory Technician Grade-II and has been posted at Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital, Salem. Similarly, in the case of Ms.G.Porkodi, the petitioner in W.P.No.28118 of 2008, he submitted that she was also appointed as Laboratory Technician Grade-III and joined duty at Primary Health Centre, Singaperumalkoil, Chengalpattu Health Unit.

3. In the light of the above, nothing survives for adjudication and the writ petitions are dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, M.P.Nos.1 of 2008 are closed. No costs.
