PETITION under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act to punish the respondent for contempt of court for disobedience of the order dated 04.7.2017 passed in W.P.No.16790 of 2017.

ORDER

I have heard Mr.R.Balasubramanian, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Government Advocate accepting notice for the respondent.

2. This contempt petition has been filed alleging willful disobedience of the order and direction issued in W.P.No.16790 of 2010 dated 04.7.2017.

3. By the said order, a learned Judge of this Court directed the petitioner's representation dated 10.2.2017 to 1/3

be considered and orders be passed in accordance with law after giving notice to all the interested parties.

4. Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Government Advocate, on instructions from the respondent, submits that an enquiry is going on and within shortest possible time and probably within two weeks, an order would be passed.

5. This submission made on behalf of the respondent - contemner is placed on record and in case there is any violation of this submission, serious action will be initiated against the respondent.

6. Thus, by recording the submission made on behalf of the respondent, the contempt petition is closed with a direction to the respondent to conclude the enquiry and pass orders in terms of the direction issued in the said writ petition on or before 27.2.2020. In the event the respondent does not comply with the order in the said writ petition, the petitioner is given liberty to restore the contempt petition.
