The petitioner, who is an Ex-MLA of the Salem Constituency belongs to Amma Makkal Munneatra Kazhagam and also holding the post of District Secretary of Salem South Constituency, has come to this Court by filing this Writ Petition seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 19.04.2018 seeking permission to conduct May Day Celebration public meeting on 01.05.2018 at Vacant Ground, near to Dadagapatti Gate, Salem at about 05.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. 2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has submitted that permission has been granted to another group, who had submitted application for conducting May https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Day Celebration on 01.05.2018. Therefore, it is not possible to grant permission to the petitioner on the same day. On first come first serve basis, the respondents are unable to grant permission to the petitioner for celebration on 01.05.2018. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted direction may be given to the respondents to grant permission on 05.05.2018 in the same place.
4.The learned Special Government Pleader has submitted that the petitioner may be directed to give a fresh application for grant of permission to conduct May Day celebration public meeting on 05.05.2018 at Vacant Ground, near to Dadagapatti Gate, Salem at about 05.00 p.m., to 10.00 p.m. 5.In view of the above submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh application requesting for permission to conduct May Day celebration public meeting on 05.05.2018 at Vacant Ground, near to Dadagapatti Gate, Salem at about 05.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. If any such application is submitted, the respondents shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders as expeditiously as possible.
6.With these directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
