PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 4th respondent to dispose of the Petitioner's representation dated 28.07.2022 in compliance to the orders of the Sub Collector vide Na.Ka.5188/2022-vu dated 22.08.2022 within a stipulated time frame.

The petitioner who is a super senior citizen seeks a mandamus simplicitor directing the 4th respondent i.e. the Tahsildar, Omalur Taluk, Salem District to dispose his representation dated 28.07.2022 in compliance with the orders of the Sub Collector in proceedings in Na.Ka.5188/2022-vu dated 22.08.2022 within a time frame to be fixed by the Court. 2.There is no dispute that the authorities have indeed received the representation and the same is under consideration. On the receipt of the application, the petitioner seeks cancellation of settlement deed dated 24.02.2016 in terms of the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act of 2007. The Revenue Divisional Officer has, in fact, sought a report from the Tahsildar in that regard. 3.Since the competent authority under the provisions of the act is R1, let the needful be done, such that the petitioner and other necessary parties are heard and the application of the petitioner dated 28.07.2022 be disposed within
a period of eight (8) weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order positively.
