ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission and police protection to conduct "Gramiya Kalai Nigazhchi" scheduled to be held on 09.03.2017 on the eve of Sri Peeriya Mariyamman Temple, Sri Chinna Mariyamman Temple festival situated at Tholasampatti, Omalur Taluk, Salem District based on the representation dated 24.02.2017.

2. This Court is of the view that under the name and style of cultural event, there shall not be any obscenity in the cultural programme. Keeping this in mind and also taking into account, the law and order, it is the respondent who has to take decision immediately. The respondent shall consider the said representation and pass orders immediately.

3. In the event of respondent considering representation and granting any such permission, the respondent is at liberty to cancel the program at any time, even during the event, if there is any obscenity or law and order problem.

4. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
