ORDER

The present criminal original petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to register a case based on the petitioner's complaint dated 27.11.2015.

2. The petitioner is doing Jewellery and Pawn broker business at No.133, Bazaar Street, Perambalur, for the past several years. On 20.10.2015, one Mannar mannan, Rajavel, who are Inspector of Police and Sub Inspector of Police in Kayarlabath Police station and some other persons came to the petitioner's shop and dragged him to the Tavera Car. Wherein, they assaulted the petitioner and taken him to various places and finally, at 11.30 pm, they have taken him to Kayarlabath Police Station. There also, all the above said persons joined together and attacked him by hands, legs and lathis. In the result, he got fainted. Thereafter, the said persons have demanded 15 sovereigns of gold and a sum of Rs.15,000/- as cash from the petitioner for his release. They also threatened the petitioner that they would foist a false case as against him. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

With regard to the same, the petitioner lodged a complaint with the second respondent police. But, till date no action has been taken on the said complaint. Hence, the present criminal original petition has been filed.

3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the District Superintendent of Police, Ariyalur, has conducted an enquiry on the complaint given by the petitioner.

5. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the second respondent to conduct enquiry on the complaint of the petitioner and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.

6. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
