PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, calling for the records of the first respondent in connection with the order of detention dated 07.06.2017 in Memo.331/BCDFGISSSV/2017, and set aside the same and direct the respondents herein to produce the body of the detenu, Selvapathi, S/o.Devaraj, aged about 28 years, now confined in Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai, before this Court and set him at liberty.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner is the sister-in-law of the detenu, namely, Selvapathi, S/o.Devaraj, male, aged about 28 years. The detenu has been detained by the second respondent by his order in No.331/BCDFGISSSV/2017 dated 07.06.2017 holding him to be a "Goonda", as contemplated under 2(f) of Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. The said order is under challenge in this Habeas Corpus https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the second respondent as against the brother-in-law of the petitioner dated 07.06.2017 has been revoked by the Government in G.O.Rt.No.4019, Home, Prohibition & Excise (X) Department dated 23.08.2017 and he has also produced a copy of the said order.

3. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this petition is closed as the same has become infructuous.
