Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to Writ of certiorarified mandamuscalling for the records pertaining to the order passed by the 1st respondent in G.O.Ms NO. 226 school education department dated 18.10.2000 and the consequential panel drawn for promotion to the post of P.G. assistant Economics) for the year 2008 by the 2nd respondent in his proceedings no. Nil dated Nil, quash the same and direct the respondents to draw the panel from among the person who possess both Basic Degree and Master Degree in the same subject ad consequently give promotion to the petitioner as P.G. Assistant (Economics).

ORDER

Though the name of R3 is printed in the cause-list, there is no appearance by or on his behalf.

Learned counsel for the petitioner does not wish to pursue this writ petition since G.O.(Ms).No.266, School Education Department dated 18.10.2000, which he challenges, is not operational any more in view of the amendment to the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Educational Service Special Rules vide https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

G.O.(Ms) No.14, School Education Department dated 30.01.2020. By virtue of the aforesaid amendment the option of a cross-category measure has been abolished. That apart, the name of the petitioner, as per para 8 of the counter filed by the respondents, has also been included in the selection for P.G. Assistant Commerce in Cross Major and the petitioner has himself been benefited from the Government Order, which is impugned.

3. Recording the aforesaid, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
