ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to consider and pass orders on the appeal memorandum dated 02.12.2024 on merits and within a time frame as fixed by this Court.
2. Heard the learned counsels on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at Loyola College, Chennai and based on a complaint given by a woman research scholar, he was placed under suspension on 19.02.2024. He further submitted that on enquiry, the allegations were proved, show cause notice was issued for which the petitioner had submitted his explanation, however based on the report of the Internal Complaints Committee report, he was imposed with a penalty of dismissal from service on 11.11.2024, aggrieved by the same, he preferred an appeal before the second respondent on
02.12.2024 and the same is pending without any progress and hence, this petition.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 02.12.2024, on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing of the petitioner, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no orders as to costs.
