... Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of Mandamus, seeking a direction to the Respondents to give appointment orders for the post of Assessor in Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to the Petitioners as per interview conducted on 17.08.2007. For Petitioners : Mrs.R.Hemalatha For Respondents : Mr.Karthik Rajan

O R D E R

Petitioners have come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the Respondents to give them appointment orders for the post of 'Assessor' in the Respondent/Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, as per the interview conducted on 17.08.2007. 2.

According to the Petitioners, after completing S.S.L.C., they registered their names in the Employment Exchange. Their names were sponsored by the Employment Exchange to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board for employment to the post of 'Assessor', on the basis of 1:1 ratio. The Respondent/Board had asked the Petitioners to appear before them along with https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Original Certificates on 17.08.2007 for direct recruitment to the post of Assessor. Accordingly, the Petitioners appeared before the Respondent/Board on 17.08.2007 and produced all the original Certificates pertaining to their educational qualification, Community Certificate and Conduct Certificate. Thereafter, the Petitioners were informed that, appointment order will be communicated to them within a month. Later, they came to know that, the interview was cancelled without assigning any reasons and that, the Respondent/Board is going to conduct interview for appointment to the post of 'Assessor' on the basis 1:5 ratio. The grievance of the Petitioners is that, they are unable to challenge the cancellation of the interview, as no written orders were issued.

3.

Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material documents available on record.

4.

In the case on hand, the Petitioners will have to furnish material records to consider their case and this Court cannot conduct a roving enquiry to grant the relief sought for by them. As such, the Petitioners have not got any legal right to seek a writ of Mandamus in respect of their grievance. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed as devoid of merits. No costs.
