ORDER

This writ petition is filed to direct the first respondent to consider petitioner representation dated 23.8.2023 and to pay compensation for the property acquired in Survey No.140/2A Mamallapuram Village, Tiirukazhu Kundram Taluk, Chengalpet District (Previously Kanchipuram District) and to pay compensation to the petitioner.

2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1, 2 and 4 and the learned Standing Counsel for the third respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the Highways Department have built 2/5

a bridge above the Buckingham canal near Karukaathamman Kovil opposite to Dhanalakshmi Engineering College annexing the East Coast Road and Thirukazhu Kundram Road in the the property of the petitioner. The grievance of the petitioner is that though he has made a representation to the petitioner seeking compensation for the land acquired by the Government, compensation has not been paid to the petitioner till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. Considering the limit relief sought for by the petitioner and as the land of the petitioner has already been acquired, let the first respondent consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.08.2023 and pass Orders on its own merits within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
