The prayer sought for herein is for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider and pass appropriate order on the petitioner's representation dated 24.06.2011 for the payment of arrears of salary with interest.
2. The petitioner was enlisted as Grade-II Police Constable in the year 1997, subsequently, though, there had been a due for promotion to the next higher cadre, that promotion seems to have not been given to the petitioner. Therefore, he approached this Court and got an order from this Court, pursuant to which, promotion to the post of Police Constable Grade-I and Head Constable was given to the petitioner with effect from 01.10.2004 and 10.10.2004 respectively, however, regarding the attendant financial benefits for such promotion given to the petitioner, no order has been passed and no such benefits were conferred to the petitioner and therefore, in order to get the same, he has given a representation to the respondent on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
24.06.2011 and the same since was not considered, he approached this Court with the aforesaid prayer.
3. Heard Mr.S.Sivakumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.K.Bhuvaneswari, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent. Taking into account, the innocuous nature of the prayer sought for herein, this Court is inclined to dispose of the Writ Petition with the following direction:
"There shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.06.2011 and pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, if not already considered, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
