Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents especially the first respondent to include the petitioner's name as S.No.15-A in between S.No.15 Thiru A.S.Nandakumar and S.No.16 Thiru P.C.Thangaraj in the promotion panel of Deputy Superintendent of Police Viz., Police Note No.28 dated 01.07-2003 prepared and issued by the first respondent and promote the petitioner as Deputy Superintendent of Police with effect from 01.07.2003 with all service and monetary benefits.

Today when the matter is taken up for hearing there was no representation for the petitioner.

The learned Special Government Pleader would submit that at the time of filing of the Writ Petition the age of the petitioner was 54 years and now, the petitioner might have been attained the age of superannuation. Therefore, nothing survives in the Writ Petition and the Writ Petition may be dismissed as https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

infructuous.

3. Recording the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed as infructuous. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
