ORDER

The prayer made in this writ petition is to quash the communication dated 18.11.2008 sent by the second respondent and consequently, direct the second respondent to grant electricity supply to the petitioner in respect of his premises at Old No.8A, New No.6A, Subash Chandra Bose Street, Sathyamurthy Block, Jafferkhanpet, Chennai- 600 083. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing on 13.12.2018, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he has given change of vakalat to the petitioner. Hence, this Court directed the Registry to print the name of the petitioner in the cause list and post the matter on 07.01.2019.

3.Accordingly, the matter was listed today, by printing the name of the petitioner in the cause list. However, there is no representation for the petitioner either in person or through a new counsel.

4.On the other hand, the learned counsel for the respondents 1 and 2, referring to the averments made in the counter affidavit filed by the respondent Board, submitted that in view of the status quo granted by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in SLP.No.10783/2006 filed by the third respondent, no action has been taken to effect service connection in favour of the petitioner and hence, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition. The said submission has been conceded by the learned counsel for the third respondent.

5.Recording the aforesaid submission made on behalf of the respondents, this writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
