O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.74 of 2020, on the file of the Judicial Magistrate-I, Thirupathur.

2.Heard Mr.A.Mohammed Sayeed, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.C.Raghavan, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the 1st respondent.

3.This Court has gone through the final report and also the materials filed along with the report. In the Considered view of this Court, no offence has been made out against the petitioners. That apart, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the Government has taken a policy decision that all the cases that were registered against those who indulged in protest against the amendment to Citizenship Act, is going to be withdrawn by the State. In view of the above, no useful purpose will be served in keeping the proceedings pending in in C.C.No.74 of 2020, dt.30.07.2020 on the file of Judicial Magistrate -I ,Thirupathur, is hereby quashed.

4.This criminal original petition is accordingly allowed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
