The petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to dispose of her representation dated 22.08.2016 by issuing patta in respect of Natham land admeasuring 01.31 ares (3.25 cents) comprised in Survey No.146/10 situate at Vadakku Street, Vadakarampoondi, Keelakalpoondi P.O., Thittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District.
According to the petitioner, she is married and has two children. She is doing agricultural coolie work and her husband is engaged in the business of Hair cutting in the Village. She has been in occupation of a vacant land admeasuring 01.31 Ares (3.25 cents) of Natham land bearing Survey No.146/10 situate at Vadakarampoondi Village, Tittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District, from 2004.
The case of the petitioner is that she does not have a piece of land or house on her own or in the name of her family members and she finds it very difficult to eke out her livelihood. Hence, she submitted an application to the 1st and 2nd respondents on 22.08.2016 and 23.08.2016 for issuance of patta for the said Natham land in her favour. The 2nd respondent also forwarded the same to the 3rd respondent to conduct an enquiry and file a Report regarding the same. It is her further case that some third parties in the Village made attempts to encroach upon the said land in her possession, which was thwarted by her.
Hence, the petitioner again made a representation dated 12.09.2016 to the respondents to grant patta in her favour. Since no action is taken by the respondents with regard to her representation, the petitioner is before this Court.
4.
Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material documents available on record.
5.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the parties, and pass appropriate orders, as expeditiously as possible. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
