The petitioner herein apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)©, 4(1-A)(ii) of Tamil nadu Prohibition (Transport) Act, 1937 in Crime No.33 of 2026, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of brandy bottles-32 Nos ( each containing 180 ml). Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner si an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, apart from this case, petitioner has 7 previous cases. Hence, he vehemently opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 2/4

5. Considering the bad antecedents of the petitioner and if anticipatory bail is granted, there is a likelihood that the petitioner would commit similar offence, hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
