For Petitioners : Mr.S.Parthasarathy For Respondent : Mr. V.Govardhanan COMMON ORDER The petitioners have filed the above Writ Petitions to issue a Writs of Mandamus directing the respondent to refix the pay of the petitioners with effect from 1.11.1982 and pay the monetary benefit from the said date instead of 1.1.1996 and 1.4.2001.

When the Writ Petitions were taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioner in W.P.No.33817 of 2004 had given representations dated 27.8.2003 and 23.4.2004 to the respondent to consider his case. However, the respondent has not considered the said representations sofar. Further, the learned counsel submitted that the petitioners in both the Writ Petitions be given liberty to give fresh representations to the respondent and the respondent may be directed to consider the same, in accordance with law.

Mr. V.Govardhanan, learned counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that in the event of the petitioners giving fresh representations, the respondent may be directed to consider the same on merits and in accordance with law. 4.Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I give liberty to the petitioners to give fresh representations to the respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the respondent shall pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks thereafter.

With this observation, the Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs.
